I wouldn't call it blackmail [Tulio]
« Thread Started on Jul 7, 2009, 9:50pm »

Chel was bored. One would think she could find something to do in such a big ship but, really, stealing got boring after a while, especially when you didn't get caught. Teachers were really slacking off. That or maybe O'Malley granted her a free pass without her knowing Either way, she didn't get caught.

She let out a sigh, stretching along her bed. The one she would never admit was Tulio's. Well, he complained and whined too much anyway, to be taken seriously. Thinking of him made her frown. He broke his promise with Miguel. He had been the one to lie. She would had never imagined it, given how Miguel always stared after her and stared at places he shouldn't be staring at. And to think that for a minute there she had thought they were both gay.

Chel smiled at that thought. So she knew Miguel wanted her, but that was no news. Every men she came across with wanted her. Except that dull party pooper Westley, but she wasn't interested in goody two shoes. They were boring to her. What was life without a little thrill anyway?

And said need for thrill was what made her feel so incredibly bored now. She needed something to do... And where were her roommates anyway? She hadn't seen Tulio but at night and he went straight to bed... Well, probably out with his little girlfriend. What did he see in her anyway? Okay, so she was somehow pretty, but she looked like a far less hot version of... well, Chel! And he had pushed her away when she tried to seduce him. That had been a low blow to her ego...

Her thoughts got interrupted as she hear the door being open, and she turned on the bed, still laying down, her feet to the headboard, so she could see who it was...

Returning from his eventful day at the hot tub with Audrey, still clad in his swim trunks and stolen-from-Miguel band t-shirt, towel in hand, Tulio slowly made his way across the ship's deck to his dorm room, stalling for time. It was getting pretty late, but if he knew his two roommates they definitely wouldn't be asleep by now, so the best he could do was walk as slow as possible and hope that they were both still out.

A hope that was quickly dashed. Swinging open the door to the room cautiously, wincing as the hinges creaked, he peered inside to find Chel sprawled out on the bed -- his bed -- and staring expectantly into the doorway. No sign of Miguel, though, which was a small mercy. Making a face at the girl, he made his way inside, dumping his towel and flip-flops any old where on the floor and falling onto the bed he and his partner had to share.

"Chel," he greeted bitterly, muffled by the blanket his face was buried in. Turning to her, his eyes narrowed. "Haven't you got a teacher to seduce or something? I was kind of hoping for some private time."

Ugh, she'd probably make an innuendo out of that. "Private time to sleep," he added. Then, glancing to the bathroom door, "Miguel's not here, is he?" It seemed that Tulio had escaped that particular threat for the moment, but he couldn't be sure.

Her smile dropped. Ugh. It was Tulio. And in such a mood too. Honestly, the guy needed to get a rest from time to time. All that worrying was going to give him a heart attack. One would think his little girlfriend would had helped with that. Maybe a few kisses after he would get relaxed enough. But nope. Apparently, Audrey wasn't doing her job.

"Prince." She greeted back mockingly, eying him as he laid down on the bed. Who would had thought that such a scrawny boy had muscles? She hadn't seen him with such little clothing before... And now she was checking him out. Chel shook her head. What was wrong with her? Tulio hated her. She knew he didn't want her like most guys. He had his stupid little girlfriend anyway. The traitor... Nope, she wasn't resentful... or jealous... or anything like it.

Chel glared at him at the teacher comment. So the rumors had gotten to him, eh? Well, it wasn't his problem anyway. "Try not too sound so jealous when you say it, honey." She replied back, turning around so she could look at the ceiling, trying to ignore him. When did their relationship turned so hateful? Okay, so she stole his bed. Big deal. Not like he didn't complain enough when she took it. She just took it. He was the man and she was the lady! Well... as far as a lady Chel could be. But still, he was supposed to give it up for her... Okay, maybe not. But she liked to think so.

"Ah, private time," She started talking, while smirking at him, turning to let him see the grin, of course he corrected himself before she could make any more comments on it. One would think Audrey took care of those private needs too. Well, maybe she wasn't as pleasing as Chel could be.

"Nope. Out. With his guitar." She replied, now turning her attention to her nails. She really needed a manicure. "I suppose he's out flirting with some girls..." She added, while containing a smile, "Ah! But he can't, can he? Because of your promise. No girls... Right." Chel turned her eyes to him, now smiling widely as she continued talking, "At least one of you two can keep such promises."

Shifting into a sitting position on the bed, not wanting to get the sheets wet from his still-damp clothing, Tulio clutched at the hem of his shirt, debating whether or not it was safe to take it off in front of the latina girl. When she spoke, it became apparent that he'd be better off waiting, and he let go of the shirt again. "Jealous? Over you?" he snorted derisively. Sure, Chel was a looker all right, gorgeous and sexy, with those legs and those...

What was he talking about again? Oh, yeah.

"Hey, if O'Malley wants someone to seduce all the money out of him, he can go right ahead. I won't stand in his way." He glared, mumbling the next part, "I bet you kick him outta his bed too."

Right on cue, Chel commented on the accidental slip of the tongue, making Tulio roll his eyes. It wasn't safe to do anything around her, was it? Change your clothes, speak... Besides, Audrey was great, but she definitely lacked the sultry flirtyness that Chel had in spades, that impression that you were an inch away from her making you a very happy man. There was nothing wrong with Audrey, of course not, but needless to say Tulio's love life was coming up a little bit lacking lately. He didn't need reminding of that fact.

When the girl started talking about women, then mentioned promises, Tulio's head whipped around to face her, eyes wide in panic. She knew?! How could she know? How could she have possibly found out about Audrey?

Maybe Chel was just bluffing, in which case Tulio would have to remain calm. Calm. Taking a breath, he tried to rearrange his face into a nonchalant expression, unsure whether it worked or not. "I don't know what you're talking about," he told her coolly. "We can both keep promises just fine, thank you."

Chel looked at him incredulously. What did he think she was? A whore? " For your information, it's more about the thrill of making out with someone completely out of boundaries and breaking the rules. Not like that doesn't thrill you, uh? Breaking the rules... Promises..." She added hinting and then grinned at him as he grumbled the part of kicking O'Malley out of the bed. As if in answer, she stretched fully and let out a small noise of satisfaction, burring her face against the covers.

"Well, we could always share." She added with a wink, teasing him. Of course he would refuse. He was such a bad guy for teases like those. He would probably take it seriously and place her even lower in his mind. She didn't care. It was his own fault anyway, for being such a lying bastard. And he had pushed her away! Her! Only to later go out with a girl who looked so much like her! And a latina at that. Well, she had always thought that she wasn't his taste or his type, but after seeing Audrey, she was sure it wasn't that. It was a hit to her ego, alright. And she couldn't deny she was attracted to Tulio too. It would had been fun, if only he wasn't such a jerk with her. And then the girlfriend. Ugh. Nope. She wasn't jealous...

Chel sat up on the bed, smiling alluringly at Tulio. She'll be damned if his little girlfriend stop her from trying. Her outfit, as always was a help. Of course Tulio seemed to be growing immune to her lack of decent clothing. At least, he was better at hiding his staring than Miguel was. "Come on. Don't tell me you've never wanted to do something forbidden. Break the rules... Isn't that tempting?" She moved, slowly crawling on the bed towards him, until she flopped down when she was right in front of him. "Not like you wouldn't know..."

Chel grinned as he still tried to defend himself and she decided to play innocent. It was far much more fun teasing him and making him squirm. "Who said you couldn't?" She asked innocently, holding her head with a hand. She smiled innocently at him, having that 'I don't know anything' face.

"Not like... like you have a girl hidden or something, darling. Well, apart of me that is. But I am the hidden girl of both you and Miguel." She winked at him, before moving to lay on her back, and looked up at him, her head falling from the bed. Her long black hair seemed to cascade down the floor. "But of course. If you did have a girl hidden, it wouldn't take that long to uncover. After all, this is a small school... And the girl could have a big mouth..." She smiled at him again before shrugging.

"Again, what do I know?"

The more Chel hinted that she knew his little secret, the more panic Tulio felt rise up from the pit of his stomach. It was pretty obvious by now that, yeah, she knew about Audrey. The thing that was occupying his mind more than anything else was... how did she know?

She couldn't have found out from Audrey herself, could she? Because he'd made her promise not to say a word about it to anyone, and as far as he knew, Audrey barely even knew Chel, so it wasn't like the two of them went around having little gossiping sessions or anything. But then, Audrey had mentioned something about telling a couple of her friends. What if they were the ones...

"Chel, I'm a con man," he said flatly, trying not to betray the panic he felt. "Breaking rules kinda comes with the territory. Promises, on the other hand, that's the part where you lost me." Tulio was lying, of course, and he had no doubt that Chel knew that, but when in doubt, deny deny deny. His eyebrow arched. "Share, with you? Somehow I don't think O'Malley would be too thrilled about that." At the same time, he wasn't rejecting the idea entirely, even though he knew she was only taunting him. Because...well, she was Chel. What straight guy would outright turn down an offer like that?

As she kept dropping hints, making it more and more obvious that she had him pegged, Tulio couldn't keep up the act anymore. Scooching to the edge of his bed, shooting her a vicious glare, he hissed through clenched teeth, "All right, Chel, you win. I'll bite. How much do you know?"

Chel's smile disappeared as soon as he mentioned O'Malley, "We're not exactly in the most loyal relationship, the professor and I. At least, not when he sleeps around with most of the faculty and the students..." It was hard to keep the bitterness down but she managed somehow, sounding more bored than anything with what she said. Of course, it showed exactly how she felt about her whole relationship with the Professor.

He explained how he was a conman and she just smiled innocently, looking at him with an amused expression. The worst conman ever. And they hadn't even conned anyone in a long time, as far as she could tell. They were both idiots in her book, although Miguel came with the 'sweet' tag too. And Tulio with the 'hot' one, but who was taking notice?

When he asked his question she grinned deeply, raising an eyebrow. So he knew she knew? Well, torturing him had been fun and now he had to ruin it by asking her. No. She wouldn't let go of him that easily. She sat on the table, looking at him for a moment, before smiling innocently. She stood up and walked to him, to sit right next to him. Absentmindedly she placed a hand on his knee, looking up at him innocently.

"I don't know what you're talking about honey..." She said in what was her most innocent voice, "I mean, I know you're a good friend. You would never do such a thing." She let out a small laugh before speaking away, "After all, here I am, flirting with you again and you haven't even flirted back, not once... Why would you betray anyone like that right?" She smiled again, stopping for a moment and looking straight at his eyes, a dangerous glint shining.

"Unless there is something to know..."

As Chel described the behaviour patterns of their dear Professor O'Malley, Tulio smirked, then barked out a short, harsh laugh. "Does he, now? So a little bit like you, then?" It was a low blow, to be sure, and he felt kind of bad after saying it, but he didn't let that show. If Chel could go around torturing him like this, then he was allowed to get his own back, at least a tiny bit. She still had the upper hand, though, with the information she had. Vaguely, Tulio's mind mulled over an idea. Maybe there was something he could dig up on her...

Then again, she wasn't exactly secretive about her private life. Or her ... femininity. Her graceful, seductive femininity with which she was now sitting close to him, touching his knee incredibly inappropriately. Tulio was going to move away from her any second now. Of course he was. When he was ready.

As she put on the big innocent act, Tulio barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes at her. But he did resist, if only because he was too preoccupied by the fact that Chel was touching him. Still, it was obvious from the look in her eyes that this was a big put-on.

Suddenly, inspiration struck. Two could play at that game.

Leaning forward, his face an inch from Chel's, Tulio put on his best flirtatious grin, acting like he was really into it. Which didn't take that much effort. "I don't know, Chel," he said softly, quirking an eyebrow. "Why don't you tell me? Is there something to know? Or..." He grabbed a strand of her hair in his fingers, twisting it gently. "Should there be something to know?"

The latina glared at him at the stupid comment about O'Malley being like her. She didn't sleep around! She wasn't a whore or something like it! How dare he? "I don't think you know me enough to make such judgments, honey. Not like you wouldn't find out, uh?" She replied back, acting as if it didn't work, as if it hadn't hurt, smiling like she had before. But it had hurt. She knew she had a reputation in school, but she had never slept around. It was a game of flirting, nothing more... She'll make him pay for that one...

Chel's face lost her naughty smile as he played along, his face hovering right in front of hers. He was so handsome. Even if he was a jerk and an idiot, he was still incredibly handsome... And those blue eyes. You could just lose yourself there. And then she noticed his smug smirk. Well, what do you know... Tulio could really act when he wanted to. The latina smiled back, leaning towards him. If he thought he could play her game and win he was truly mistaken.

She leaned in, nuzzling his cheek while closing her eyes, acting interested. Not that she wasn't, but the memory of him being a jerk to her still lingered. "Oh... Tulio..." She whispered his name softly, "Why don't you tell me? After all, I've done nothing but flirt with you since we met... Haven't I?"

Chel parted from him, still smiling, a glint in her eyes. She wouldn't let him win this game. Never. If he wanted to play she could bring out the big guns. He was going down. She moved till she was almost sitting in his lap, still smiling at him gently. "Don't tell me you have someone else in mind... because that'll just hurt..." She grinned again, a sparkle in her eyes.

He really would like to find out if the rumours were true, God yes. Chel was ... well, Chel, woman enough to reduce any man to a pile of goo with a look. Not to mention she was currently sharing a room with him -- him and Miguel, but right now that was a small detail in this otherwise perfect scenario. Tulio could pretend all he liked to the contrary, but he'd definitely ... imagined how things might go with Chel. Lots of times. And he had a vivid imagination.

Usually he'd cover all that up with a mean remark and contrive to get as far away from her as possible, because he just couldn't, not after he and Miguel had made that stupid vow. But it looked like his friendship with Miguel was pretty much over anyway; he didn't believe for one second that Chel was clueless, nor did he believe she'd keep what she knew to herself. So right now, there was no harm in playing along, right?

Tulio felt her nuzzle into his cheek. His eyes rolled up a little and he made an indistinct "Ngh" sound at this; the closeness of her and, and the smell of her hair, and ... this ... wasn't going the way he'd planned it. He'd planned to play it cool, but now with his temperature on the rise, there was little chance of that. Burying the fingers of one hand into her soft hair, he smiled tightly and spoke, fighting to keep his voice level. "You have," he agreed. "Good flirting, too. Kudos. Very good flirting. Um."

His train of thought was rapidly derailing. He could see the look in her eye very clearly, when she pulled away from him. It wasn't an uncommon look, for Chel, and usually meant that something bad was in Tulio's immediate future. But as she shifted toward him, he just couldn't seem to care. "Someone else? You don't honestly think that? I mean, I've ... dallied ... with that Audrey girl -- and don't tell me you didn't know that, because I know you know -- but have you seen her?" He waved a hand airily. "She's just a pale imitation, Chel. A poor substitute for the real thing."

Meaningfully, he cupped her cheek in one hand and drew closer to her, grinning a shark-like grin. Okay, he knew how this went. He wasn't going to ... to kiss her or anything, right? He was going to pull away at the last second. Really, he was.

Really.

Chel smiled to herself as Tulio let out that small sound of pleasure. It was working. She wouldn't lose. No. This was her game and she wasn't going to lose. No matter how handsome she was, or if those little noises he made sent shivers down her back...or if his eyes were to die for... Concentrate Chel!

"Heh, yes..." She was almost purring now, whispering her words to his ear softly, still being so close to him. "But it didn't matter that much, did it? My flirting? You always pushed me away..." Chel moved a bit to grin at him. It was so obvious now, what she was doing. Yet he seemed to be falling for it. She wouldn't lose...

Though while he talked, admitted what he was doing with Audrey, Chel just had to laugh bitterly. Right. As if she would believe that. "Dallied?" She repeated, her voice still low and soft. Not because she was acting, but because being so close was starting to affect her. It didn't matter. The moment he mentioned the other girl's name, her feelings turn into anger once again. Anger that he had broken his promise with Miguel, mind you. She was not jealous... She wasn't!

"Oh, it was a little bit more than that, Tulio... Wasn't it?" Chel shifted once again. She was now sitting on his lap, smiling at him while she played with his hair. "After all... Audrey herself called you 'her boyfriend'. That doesn't sound like just flirting to me..." A finger trailed his cheek feeling the slight stubble there. He was so handsome. Too bad he was such a jerk. "And yes... I've seen her. A pale imitation... Which really makes me wonder why you chose her... There has to be something there, for you to have liked her." Her smile widened as she continued her small caresses. "We're different. Audrey and I. She may look like me but in the core, we're so different. You can't really call her feminine, right? Or sexy?"

Just then, with just one gesture, Chel lost all her coolness. The latina's eyes widened as he placed a hand on her cheek and leaned closer to her. "Tulio..." She sighed his name, her eyes dropping. But his grin didn't go missed. She smiled again, despite her eyes being halfway closed and fixed in his lips. "You're not really going to kiss me. Are you, Tulio? You wouldn't cheat on your little girlfriend..." She leaned even closer, still smiling, her eyes closing completely. Her lips were barely grazing his now...

"You don't have the guts..."

"I pushed you away for Miguel's sake," he countered, in a low voice, speaking almost into her hair from proximity. "If he saw me playing along with you ... well, you know how he gets when he's upset." This was said dismissively, like oh, that Miguel, he gets in a mood sometimes, although in truth it was no small thing; it bothered Tulio more than he cared to admit when his partner was upset. That wasn't something Chel needed to know about at this point in time, though.

Under normal circumstances, he would have gotten annoyed as she started to talk about Audrey, maybe even angry. But right now, all he could think about was, how had Chel known? He sure as hell hadn't told her, so that only left one person: Audrey. If Miguel found out, if their friendship collapsed because of this, then it'd be Audrey's fault. (The thought never occurred to Tulio that it would actually be his fault as well. He was just that kind of guy.)

"Hey, it's not my fault if she thought it was more than it was," he lied coolly, playing Detached Guy. Sure, he was a little afraid of the kind of pain Audrey could inflict on him, but she wasn't here to listen to this anyway. "I only flirted with her. She led herself on." He continued to twist Chel's hair between his fingers as he listened to her smooth voice, enjoying the warmth that came with her being so close to him. Ordinarily they wouldn't have given each other the time of day. Or maybe that only applied to Tulio's end, because he'd been so careful about Miguel before, and now that had all gone flying out the window... "She had her charms, I guess," he told her dismissively, shrugging lightly. "I only chose her because you seemed to be committed elsewhere."

Surprisingly, Chel seemed to actually be into this ... the idea of the two of them, kissing... "She's not my girlfriend..." he whispered, leaning still closer to Chel. And some part of him meant that, too. If Audrey really had told Chel, then he couldn't trust her, couldn't ... be bothered thinking about anything else right now, with Chel's lips so close to his. His eyelids slid shut...

And on the inside of them, clear as day, he saw Miguel's face, glaring angrily at him, accusing him of betrayal. Abruptly, Tulio jerked back.

"Don't tell Miguel," he said quietly, squirming out from underneath Chel and standing up. "I mean it. It'll only hurt him if you do."

Chel let out a small laugh. Right. Tulio must think she was stupid because by the way he was acting it was obvious he was lying. She could tell. It was easy to read him. At least for her it was. Tulio was a good conman, but not as good as her.

Her arms went around his neck, and she pressed her chest against his, her smile turning wider, "You know I am never commited to anything, Tulio. I am free and I like to keep it that way. Although..." She pressed her lips against the side of his mouth for a moment before continuing, "I could always make an exception for you..." She whispered again.

She had him. She was sure... and he had her too apparently. When she saw his eyes close, hers closed too, and she leaned up to him, her lips preparing to be kissed and her heart started to beat fast in anticipation... Only it never came.

Is it always like that with Audrey too?" She asked, her voice leveled, although she wanted to scream at him.

"If he's hurt it'll be because you hurt him, Tulio. Not me." With that, she left the room, slamming the door after her. She would return to pick up her stuff later. She just couldn't be living in the same room as him. Not anymore...
